One of the most memorable facets of your wedding reception will be the musical entertainment. Ambient DJ Service is there to provide the right aesthetic for your special day.  We believe that a reception should be both elegant and fun, and always in good taste.  We play the songs that you want to hear. Equally as important, we honor your Do Not Play list.  Controversial line dances?  That's your call!  The volume is totally in your control at all times.  One-third of our events are wedding receptions, giving us the necessary experience to deliver a smooth, fun and memorable event.

 

Couples can select a customized play list of songs. Alternatively, if you need ideas, we will offer you our suggestions. Our website contains menus of popular wedding categories including First Dance, Father-Daughter Dance, Mother-Son Dance, Cake Cutting, and Last Song.  See our suggestions in the Wedding Song Lists section for details.

 

Ambient's philosophy towards wedding receptions is that the bride & groom are the focal point, not the DJ!  While we make professional announcements, entertain guests and keep the dance floor moving, we do not engage in excessive chatter or cheesy antics. 

 

After hiring Ambient, we will provide you a detailed wedding reception planner.  Much of the work for a wedding reception takes place weeks and months in advance.   Every couple and family is unique, and we strive to understand all of your needs and expectations.  Whether seeking a classic wedding reception with a wide variety of musical styles, or a non-traditional party, we can assist you in putting together the perfect program.  In the final weeks before the wedding reception, we review the wedding reception planner with the client couple - typically this is done in-person.  

 

On the date of your reception, we will arrive at least 90 minutes early, set up our equipment and be ready for the arrival of your guests.  Throughout the course of the reception, we serve as your Master of Ceremonies and keep the program on course, coordinating closely with the photographer and banquet hall manager.  Late in the evening, we will get your guests dancing!  Ambient excels in dance music and you can expect an animated dance floor!  Numerous references from satisfied couples who entrusted Ambient for their wedding receptions can be provided upon request.  See Testimonials »

 

We only perform one wedding reception per day, so we are never in a hurry to leave and can completely focus on your event.

 

For those couples desiring a higher energy event, we suggest our two person tag team - consisting of two Ambient DJ personnel who share the responsibilities of mixing music and MCing. 

 

Regarding attire, the DJ will dress in a dark colored business suit, dress shirt and tie.  A tuxedo or other attire can be worn upon request.
