Ambient uses professional audio systems reflecting the latest in technology and high fidelity sound.

The general rule of thumb for a sound system is that it is only as strong as its weakest link. That said, speakers arguably contribute the most towards the quality of sound. We selected Mackie Active Speakers.  Active speakers, also known as powered speakers, are reputed to have a fuller sound due to the integrated circuitry of the amplifier/speaker.

The main components of our system are:

• 2 Mackie 1521 2-Way Active Speakers, or 2 Mackie SRM 450 Active Speakers - These speakers are able to comfortably fill a normal reception hall with a rich, full sound.   The 450s are appropriate for most parties, while the 1521s are employed for large rooms or auditoriums.  For more information, see http://www.mackie.com »

• Behringer PRO MIXER VMX300 – Allows up to three CD players and three turntables; featuring ultra low noise design, a 3 band equalizer with frequency ‘kills’ and a beats per minute counter. • Nady UHF 10– Our wireless microphone system allows the microphone to easily move throughout large spaces, maximizing versatility and entertainment options.  The wireless mic is a particularly important fixture at wedding receptions!

• Ministry of Sound dj1003 Headset 

• Ultimate Brand Speaker Stands - Our professional speaker stands securely hold each of our 70 pound speakers and allow the music to be dispersed throughout the dance hall near ear level.

• Chauvet 700W Fog Machine -  Let us know if you would like to add a blast of fog your dance floor.  Please check in advance with the venue to see if they allow this effect.  In rare cases, fog can set off smoke detectors and sprinkler systems!

• Various Lighting Effects -   Our lighting effects illuminate the room in multiple colors, rotating off the beat of the music. 

We also own turntables, an effects processor, laptop computer/mixing software, other lighting equipment and assorted backup equipment.
